The first tracks of our second full length Stoning Mary album are underway. We are really excited to get this project going, not just because it’s a chance to create and record new material, but it’s how we are going to be recording it. The approach we are taking for this project is really quite different then how we have done it in the past. We have two home studios set up, which will be the locations of our recording. Drum and bass tracks are being recorded at our City home studio, and will be transferred out to our Country-side studio for guitars, keys, and vocals.

In the past we have worked with some talented producers. But for this album, we as artists really felt the urge to take full control of our sound. In essence, we decided to produce it ourselves. On an individual basis, each of us have been practicing, learning, and developing the required skills needed to record, mix, master and produce every aspect of this album. We will be writing, performing, recording, producing, mixing, and mastering everything as a band. All our photography and design work for our album art will be done by us as well, and all will be done in the comfy confines of our homes.

Our listeners can expect an album that will feature a raw and real sound, full of well groomed, well written songs that really emulate stories and experiences in our lives over the past year or so, as well as address the state of the world, and the state of our minds and our futures. This is an album that will represent the evolution of our music and complete artist involvement that will lead to an exclusively pure Stoning Mary album. We hope it will inspire the soul of the listener in a time when real music may be more necessary than we think, as we progress through the year of 2012.
